About Newburgh bankruptcy lawyer Edward Papa

I concentrate my practice on consumer bankruptcy, real estate, and family law. I am admitted to practice before the New York State courts, the Southern and Eastern Federal District Courts of New York, and the New York Eastern Bankruptcy and New York Southern Bankruptcy Courts. I am a member of the Orange County Bar Association, the Hudson Valley Bankruptcy Bar Association, the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys, the New York State Bar Association, and the American Bar Association.

I serve on the New York State Bar Association’s Committee on Issues Affecting People with Disabilities and I am a pro-bono volunteer with Legal Services of the Hudson Valley.

I received my Juris Doctor Degree from Hofstra Law School in Hempstead, New York. I also have a Masters Degree in Education from Long Island University at Rockland Graduate Center in Orangeburg, New York. I received my Bachelor’s Degree from LIU-Southampton College in Southampton, New York.

Contrary to what many people will tell you, bankruptcy is not entirely governed by federal law. State property law also plays an important role. As a real estate lawyer, I have experience with both the federal bankruptcy code and state property law. This experience helps me to protect your assets from liquidation in a bankruptcy. Many of our clients are able to save their homes, their cars and their businesses.
